Onsite Crane – Restricted Access is No Issue

CMP Construction called on us for assistance with their recent 5-storey project in Saint Heliers, and our STL200 Mobile Crane unit provided the perfect solution for the site, due to access challenges and provided a different way of thinking about the construction method.  The Swanson team worked with Sean at CMP throughout the project and look forward to the next challenge thrown our way.

Seans testimonial below highlights the advantages of the unit.

“We are nearing completion of a very challenging build on a long, narrow, tight site in St Heliers, consisting of a 5-storey apartment building.

Swanson Transport’s PK200,002 machine was extremely helpful, and in fact changed the entire build methodology for us, meaning we could fit it in the driveway, and didn’t need traffic management on the road for a mobile crane.

The whole team has been incredibly user friendly to deal with, often reshuffling their plans, to make it work for us.

Aaron the crane operator is truly an expert at what he does, and we have carried out some really tricky lifts with no issues. And completing a lift every 7 – 10 minutes means we get a lot done in a day.

We were able to lift portacoms, scaffolding stillages, pallets of gib, and precast building panels and stairs and everything else we needed to lift up over a 20m high building 30m away from the truck. It really for us was as good as a 130t crane, but without any tail-swing or counterweights.

I couldn’t recommend them highly enough to anybody looking for a cost effective, easy to setup, and compact crane. I only wish we knew about them earlier.

Regards Sean Marshall - CMP Project Manager”
