What Hiab Truck Do You Need For The Job?

Not quite sure on what Hiab truck is best suited for the task at hand? multiple factors come into play, how heavy is the load, how big is the load, site access. Each type of truck in the fleet has different characteristics to help ensure the job can be done efficiently and safely. We offer a range of different truck configurations, each one has different advantages which are explored below:

4w Hiab

Compact versatile units optimized for a wide range of light work. These unit are designed to maximize the pay load with the crane’s ability to lift material on or off while on site. the crane has a respectable performance handling 2.5tn at 4m allowing loads of that weight to be placed off to the side of the truck, for lighter loads these units can push 800kg out to its maximum reach of 8m. These units come with a large amount of deck space of 6.2m (L) x 2.5m (W) and the crane is mounted at the front behind the cab which allows for indivisible loads larger than the deck to extend out the back.

4x4 Hiab

Very similar in specs as to the 4w Hiab with the same in crane performance but a slightly shorter deck length at 5.9m this unit is ideal for those difficult sites, the 4x4 and high ground clearance will help get you get closer to where you need the load to be placed, possibly saving the need for larger truck. The crane is front mounted allowing indivisible loads to extend of the rear of the truck.

6w Hiab

Great unit optimized for delivery of all kinds of materials and goods. These units have a high payload of 10tn along a large deck of 7m (L) x 2.5m (W) and are equipped with a solid preforming crane mounted on the rear of the truck, giving it the ability to place loads weighing in at 4tn 4m off the back of the truck or push it further out to 17m while handling 700kg.

8w Hiab

Well-optimized units to perform a range of heavy tasks, being a 8w these units can a better time getting into sites than the 6w as they are less skeptical to belling out over a hump, and they have greater maneuverability due to having a tighter turning circle. Deck size and payloads are slightly reduced compared to the 6w only being able to carry a still respectable 7tn payload on a 6.4m (L) x 2.5m (W) deck. most of these units are fitted with a strong performing crane mounted at the rear for lifts of 6tn at 4m or reaching out to 23m with 500kg on the hook. and one unit with it mounted at the front behind the cab, allowing for longer indivisible loads. these units are also fitted with a ring feeder to tow a dog trailer. Some of these are units fitted with winch capabilities for additional versatility.

10w Hiab

Our largest rigid unit designed fitted with our high performing crane as well as similar deck space to the 8w however one of the lower payloads of 5.8tn out of truck mounted fleet however, the loss in that department is greatly made up for in the crane performance department. With exceptional long reach abilities going out to 32m while managing 350kgs at that distance, this crane is also a high performer with heavy in close lifts commanding 9.6tn lift at 4m. if more payload is required then these can tow a dog trailer too.

Artic Hiab

An extremely versatile unit with the ability to offer different configurations to suit the job at hand while being fitted with the the next step up in high performing crane as the 10w being able to master 11tn at 4m and handing a little more weight of 370kg at 32m. this unit can be used as truck only crane, add the pup deck to cart a small load or attach a dog trailer to make a truck and trailer. for long loads it can hook up to a range of artic trailers from a normal artic trailer to a trombone trailer for long loads or a low loader for tall loads.

Pk200 Mobile Crane

The largest Palfinger crane manufactured offering the best in performance, this unit has the strength to lift 17.6tn at 7m and stretching all the way out to 45m with 500kg. This unit is a mobile crane that has the advantages of knuckle boom operation with a fly jib to help with lifting into those hard-to-reach places. This unit has many additional accessories that play to its advantage such as a winch, elevated work platform (EWP) and an additional manual fly jib to reach out another 5m to 50m with 350kg.
